The Health Program Director leads administrative and legislative health policy efforts, with a heavy emphasis on public health, insurance policy, and oral health. The Health Program Director is a senior leadership position responsible for convening and supervising NC Child’s internal Health Team.
In addition, the Child Health Program Director serves in a critical public role for the agency, representing NC Child at the federal, state, and local levels. They serve as a spokesperson on health policy issues for the press. They are a strong leader and facilitator, able to dive into the details of Medicaid policy while keeping the long-term vision and strategy at the forefront.
The position requires a deep commitment to consumer voice, centering the experiences and voices of families whose children rely on public health insurance coverage, and working to advance racial equity in health policy. The Health Program Director will collaborate with a wide range of health advocates, state and local government entities, and other stakeholders to advance child and family health.

||NC Child offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid sick days, vacation, family leave, and a commitment to professional development. The salary range for this position is $66,000-$76,000/year, depending on training and experience.
