At NC Child, we’re responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by focusing on the most immediate needs of children and families – food, access to health and mental health services, and emergency financial assistance — and advocating for urgent policy solutions that keep North Carolina families safe and healthy. While the situation is changing daily, our commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential – no matter what difficulties they face — stands firm.

Today we’re sharing our COVID-19 Response Summary with you. It outlines NC Child’s priorities during this public health crisis. It also shares some ways that you can be a voice for children and families right now.

In the midst of so much uncertainty, there is one thing about which we are crystal clear: You and how much your support has helped NC Child make positive impact for kids.

During times of crisis, it’s easy to get mired in bad news, which is why – in addition to sharing our COVID-19 emergency response efforts – we also want to remind you of some of the victories you helped us achieve last year. Please take heart in the success stories from our 2019 Impact Report – from protecting babies and young children from lead in their water to keeping children out of the adult prison system. You make a big difference in our work. Thank you.

We all know that kids and families are facing challenges we have not seen in generations. That’s why our work to speak up together with them is more important than it has ever been.

The reality is: we have a long and challenging recovery ahead of us. And we need you. If you are able and inspired, please donate to NC Child today to help us meet and conquer the challenges ahead.

Knowing that you believe in our work and are with us every step of the way really inspires our team to keep showing up for kids and families during this pandemic. Thank you for being such an amazing advocate and ally for children and families.

And if you can’t donate, we want you to know that we are here for you. Our COVID-19 Survey is helping us better understand how this crisis is impacting kids and families. Your response will help us better advocate for you and the children in your life.

Thank you for always being an advocate for children. We are so grateful for your friendship and support.
