More than 1 in 5 children in North Carolina have special health care needs. Many of their parents fall into the healthcare coverage gap, earning too much to qualify for Medicaid and too little to get affordable coverage through Healthcare.gov.
Expanding Medicaid would support tens of thousands of parents in our state who care for children with special health care needs.
